Tekla Global BIM Awards

Tekla BIM Awards is a way to express appreciation towards Tekla software customers and share their success stories worldwide. Together with the forward-thinking users, Tekla software plays a significant role in building many complex and iconic structures and leading the construction industry's development.

All the winners from the local Tekla BIM Awards competed in the global competition August - September 2016.

The entries to the Global BIM Awards competition are the winners of regional Tekla BIM Awards organized by area offices and resellers worldwide.

Construsoft BIM Awards (the Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Spain, Portugal, Greece) 


  • Local competitions are organized during spring 2016.
  • Voting of global competition is open to the public in August 2016.
  • The judging panel will sit in the beginning of September 2016.
  • The winners will be announced later in September 2016.

All category winners will receive:

  • media coverage
  • marketing material to be used in Trimble Solutions’ and customers own marketing communications
  • trophy & certificate

In addition to this, one of the winners is selected as an overall winner and they will receive

  • 2 tickets to Trimble Dimensions 2016 and a possibility to showcase their project there
    • note: travel cost is not included, only entry fee to Trimble Dimensions 2016
  • the overall winner is selected by the jury

Adam Glema, Poznan University of Technology

Professor of Structural and Computational Mechanics. Vice-dean for education on the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Poznan University of Technology, Poznan, Poland. Participant of  BuildingSmart Nordic Board as observer representing Poland  last years. The initiator of the creation of the Polish branch of buildingSMART Poland. One from main coordinators in Poland of BIM education, BIM standardization and BIM certification with openBIM, data and processes exchange with branch team-interoperability and software coexistence.


Nadine Post, Engineering News-Record's editor-at-large for buildings, design and construction

An award-winning journalist with more than 35 years of experience. Post has written hundreds of articles on the most innovative and challenging building projects the world over. A sampling includes the redevelopment of the World Trade Center, the Burj Khalifa, the Disney Concert Hall, the Experience Music Project, the United Nations restoration and the Statue of Liberty restoration. Post has covered disasters, failures and attacks, including the 1993 bombing and the 2001 destruction of the World Trade Center. She has also written about structural, mechanical and fire engineering, seismic design and construction, codes and standards, indoor air quality, green buildings, innovative materials, project delivery, urban planning, architecture and landscape architecture and computers in design and construction. In 1985, Post wrote McGraw Hill's book Restoring the Statue of Liberty (1986) for the restoration’s architects—Richard S. Hayden and Thierry W. Despont.


Ragnar Wessman, Director of Product Architecture, Trimble Engineering & Construction

Ragnar Wessman is the Director of Product Architecture for Trimble’s Engineering and Construction sector. He is the originator and driving force behind the start product Xsteel later renamed Tekla Structures of Tekla Corporation. He led the initial development and took the product from inception to international success. The product is the clear worldwide market leader in its segment.

Wessman works closely with users, business management, product management, engineering and technology to drive an interoperable set of solutions across the Trimble Construction Sector product lines to deliver on Trimble Construction Sector’s vision “Best products with best integration”.


Risto Räty, Trimble Buildings Structures Division, general manager

Risto Räty is responsible for the Trimble Buildings Structure Division and has been a key member of the management team since 1994.

Risto has worked for the company since 1986 as a programmer, sales representative, head of sales, sales director, area director (Europe), director responsible for products and director of building & construction business. Risto was nominated the general manager of Trimble Buildings Structures Division in 2013. He holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Helsinki University of Technology. Risto has a wide range experience gained from numerous Finnish government driven BIM research programs. He was a member of Tekes´ (the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation) Verso advisory board five years.

He is a member of the board of Peikko Group, a Finnish company specialising in concrete connections and composite structures.
